The Director of Tenant Services is responsible for managing all aspects of resident services, including the management and engagement of third-party service providers, coordinators, their staff, and other third-party organizations that are delivering services to tenants across our portfolio of approximately 1,400 units. More specific responsibilities include:


  • Developing and implementing management and marketing plans, enabling tenants to be aware of and receive the social services made available to them;


  • Creating and implementing data collection systems that measure tenant outcomes, and then meaningfully report findings to ownership;


  • Providing ownership with recommendations as to staffing, new project service and community partner opportunities, navigating new markets, and other recommendations regarding all aspects of service-enriched housing;


  • Lead training sessions on relevant best practices;


  • Responsible for compliance reporting as to funding partners, such as AHP empowerment commitments, tracking, and similar reporting;


  • Generate reports as to blended management practices and outcomes between service providers and property management staff; and


  • Other duties or roles that may become necessary and fit within the general job-description and responsibilities.


Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in working for a service provider, or similar organization in the affordable housing space; have knowledge of not-for-profit organization’s structure and service components, along with familiarity with Medicaid and similar billing structures for service funding, along with Section 42, and other government-assisted housing programs and HUD regulations governing them; ideally candidates will be certified in LIHTC and Occupancy Standards or Blended Occupancy; Experience in working with Housing Finance Agencies, Limited Partnerships, and Federal Home Loan Banks is preferable.


Strong verbal, writing skills, and analytical skills; must have strong organizational and computer skills including Google Drive, along with strong skills in creating and understanding MS Excel spreadsheets.


Regular travel is necessary to visit properties, engage with on-site staff, meet with neighborhood community groups, and similar agencies. 


40 hours per week.  Must be available on weekends for meetings, and ability to travel.
